Anima-June Transfer to Coloane Kennel (1875-Granny)!

<09-06-2017> Granny was delivered to Coloane Kennel, from Macau Kennel, on 9th June 2017! 1875-Granny (F), was rescued by Anima on the 2nd May 2017, aging around nine years old, after we saw that she was wandering outside the Water Company near Anima. No microchip was found. She had skin problems and hair loss all over the body. 1875-Granny was temporarily delivered to Macau Kennel as we had no space for her, but we have decided that we will collect her as soon as we were capable to reorganize our space, which was not easy! She was for sure abandoned and that area was very dangerous for any dog being free, as Altinho de Ka Ho is a serious killer road! As we were completely full we were authorized by IACM to move her to Coloane Kennel where she will be under Anima supervision! Thanks IACM! IACM and Anima are...

Abandonment, Cooperation Anima-IACM (1397-Addis)!

<01-12-2016> 1397-Addis (M), formerly a  puppy under our SPP, was adopted on 19th March 2015. Addis was one of the five puppies of SPP1393-Adelina that was found pregnant and rescued by us on 22nd January 2015. Anima was informed by IACM on 24th June 2016 that 1397-Addis was rescued by a resident in a street and delivered to Macau kennel on 15th June 2016. Anima tried to contact the former adopter with no success! Addis was in IACM waiting that the adopter receives the letter from IACM. We would collect him back if the adopter abandon him! We were so ashamed of this adopter! We never disclose the names of who abandoned the animals adopted from us but remember we have posts of all our activity from at least the first of January 2015! Addis has stayed in Macau Kennel for five months but the adopter never show up. He was castrated and transferred to...

Anima – Cooperation with IACM (833-Blair)!

<08/11/2016> 832-Serina (F) and 833-Blair (F), together with 831-Sakura, 834-Anny, 835-Dina, 836-Bali, 837-Don and 838-Benson were rescued by Anima on 22nd June 2012, after a call from Ms. Lam reporting that there were eight puppies in the airport that needed our help. Serina and Blair were adopted on 15th July 2012. However, Serina was returned to Anima on 4th July 2013 and the excuse of the adopter was that he couldn’t take care of two dogs. Blair was abandoned in Macau Kennel on 6th October 2016. We tried to understand the reason, but the adopter was rude telling us that this was not our business. He was wrong! He didn’t read the adoption form properly! Blair has been staying in Macau Kennel for spay. She was transferred to Coloane Kennel for adoption today. Blair is under Anima staff management. All animals in Coloane Kennel have play times as this is a principle in Anima. No animal...

Anima- Animal for Adoption in IACM (451-Ivone)!

451-Ivone was first adopted from Anima on 20 June 2009 and was abandoned in Praça do Tap Seac. Someone found her in the street and delivered her to IACM. After she was adopted again in kennel on 10th April 2015, but we were informed by IACM that Ivone was again abandoned in the Macau kennel two days ago. Fortunately, by an old informal policy between Anima and IACM, when we transfer our property to a new adopter our name is internally registered in IACM files. Once an animal is abandoned we are informed by IACM which, by law, can only disclose the microchip. But this is enough for us to know who was the bad guy. Once informed, we immediately called the adopter and the reason is always the same: the family do not want the animal anymore or they have no space! But why they have not even called us? Why...

Anima – Cooperation with IACM has reinforced the relations between both organizations !

Anima began on 1st February its cooperation with IACM, helping animals in the kennel to find adopters. We installed today five umbrellas to allow the animals to have their own play time when is raining! After around five months our relations are now very strong and trust has been a key piece in all this process. There is now a window of opportunity for some of those animals to be kept alive forever. Unfortunately it is not possible to keep all dogs in the Macau kennel alive! We hope the new Law will reduce drastically the number of animals abandoned reducing also the euthanasia by IACM. It was not an easy approach as we are two different types of organizations and our past was several times a past of fights. But we had to compromise for the benefit of the animals! Anima never kills and IACM, as any other kennels in the world,...
