Anima- Mrs.Winnie Chui is our Honorary President!

<19-05-2018> Winnie Chui, the wife of the Macau Chief Executive, Dr. Chui Sai On, following an invitation of the President of Anima Board of Directors, has accepted to be a Honorary President of Anima! The proposal of the Board of Directors approved on May 12, 2018, by our constitution needed to be ratified in the next Anima General Assembly! On its meeting of 19 May, 2018, the General Assembly has ratified with an unanimous vote and acclamation this honorific title! Anima-We need volunteers this Saturday!

<16-11-2017> We need volunteers to help us! Dear friends, We need volunteers to help at our Cats' Paradise this Saturday (18 November 2017) afternoon from 3pm to 6pm! If you are available, please go to our Cats' Paradise directly during that time. Anima Shelter is completely FULL! We need to re-organize our space to help more animals in need! At this moment our Dog Shelter is full and has no space for extra dogs. We can only re-arrange and re-organize some space at our Cats' Paradise in order to move some dogs there. Everyday we are rescuing animals, however, we always face the difficulty of space. Now we are finding solution to facilitate our work to help more animals! Please help us to remove extra stuffs in our warehouse, help us to clean the place, help us to re-arrange the room and settings. We need people to help us! Anima-Godparent Program News!

<01-11-2017> We hope to have your understanding on our situation! Dear Godparents, First of all we want to thank you for your kind support to our animals. The money you provide to a certain animal helps him/her a lot! When the animal is adopted or died, Anima should immediately call you or write to you to inform you about his/her situation. Unfortunately, from 2016 on, but especially in 2017, we were not capable to control those situations as we had not enough staff in shelters and in administration (we even have lost two of them) and our rescues and work increased a lot. Help us being a temporary foster family of our cats!

<26-08-2017> Dear Friend, The free area of our Cats Paradise was almost completed destroyed! Ceilings were broken by fall down trees and all the nets protecting the cats were destroyed! We have lost at the moment around 40 cats! Now we can not have cats outside the houses, in the free area, and this situation creates another problem. Anima is facing several flows of virus transmittable only between cats. As we have to reduce the area where they are now, especially the airy area, we are creating more chances for all healthy cats to get easily contaminated! If you do not have cats at home, please help us fostering one or two of our cats for a period of two months, the time we preview we need to fix all fences and ceilings! Anima–Agreement between Anima and Cotai Water Jet!

<07-07-2017> After negotiations with Cotai Water Jet, it was agreed that from July 2017 on, and for a trial period of six months: when you travel back to your country using Hong Kong Airport, you can now transport your pet (only dogs or cats) from Cotai (Taipa) to Macau Ferry Terminal in Hong Kong (Sheung Wan), provided the cage of your pet can be transported by you in one hand! For that you need to contact Cotai Water Jet four days in advance and buy all seats of a cabine having all the papers of your pet and transit permits in order! For your own safety, do you want to be muzzled? For your own safety, do you want to be caged? Anima is a Society that protects all animals, not only dogs or cats, birds or rabbits. Any living creature is subject to our concern. No animal, including those that belong to our chain of food consumption (not all of us are veggies activists), should be treated with cruelty. Animals that belong to our chain of food consumption should be respected and any unnecessary cruel treatment should be severely punished or avoided. We are a kind of Association that respects life. As so, we do not kill, unless in very extreme situations when animals enter in suffer and no other treatment is possible! Life is the most important thing for all of us, including non-humans animals! Anima – Message from the President!

We receive everyday several calls for rescuing animals. When this happens, Anima send its rescue team to the place and analyze case by case. Usually we make this analysis mainly for dogs as we have no capacity for receiving them. Our decision depend only if the animal is in risk or not and is not usually an easy decision! We feel the pressure and the stress every time we have to do that! In Anima, we have dogs in corridors, in the association area, in the vet area where we should have vet equipment and only sick animals (we are postponing the buying of equipment for our vet clinic mainly because of that, which complicates our life and makes our costs increasing substantially), in front of elevators, in the terrace and sometimes even in toilets.
