Anima – Apple Daily News of Hong Kong Has Visited Us!

  |   News, Our Visitors

Today 13 people visited us, two were reporters from Apple Daily News of Hong Kong that stayed with us for one full day!
They came to interview Anima regarding our daily job!
They follow-up our rescue team in the morning and afternoon paid a detailed visit to our shelter and interviewed our President.
Anima talked about the four main policies of Anima: No Kill, No Cage, Group Housing and rescue mainly animals in risk!
Also our President referred that because of the first policy it is difficult for Anima to rescue all types of animals as Anima is completely full!
Everyday Anima must need to be creative to find solutions for still continuing to rescue animals in danger and socialize them afterwards as space is very limited!
The President referred also that Anima must respect the international standards of space for animals and as so give to all of them their own space, otherwise fights will happen and they may kill each others!
Group Housing is much better for the animals, involve more risks but Anima prefers that animals must live always together in order to play together!
However Group Housing obliges Anima to be more careful as animals must be socialized. This requests a lot of our time   and Anima refuses to be  a warehouse of animals!
They must live with us with dignity, happiness and with the maximum as possible of Welfare! Food and water supply is only part of this welfare!
We consider a sick attitude to save animals for either being killed or kill others when they arrive and are simply mixed with others or for being caged for life, sometimes in tiny cages and sometimes in cages containing more than one animal!
This is a practice common in Macau that we totally condemn!
More and more visitors come to Anima!
In 2015, we had 5,768 visitors an increase of 4.7% as compared with 5,511 in 2014!
61 groups of schools, associations and companies have visited us in 2015!

In January of 2016, the total number of visitors increased by 12% and the total number of groups increased by 80% comparing with last year!
Thank you for trusting us and supporting our work!
