Anima – Our Policy About Animals
Anima is a Society that protects all animals, not only dogs or cats, birds or rabbits. Any living creature is subject to our concern. No animal, including those that belong to our chain of food consumption (not all of us are veggies activists) should be treated with cruelty.
Animals that belong to our chain of food consumption should be respected and any unnecessary cruelty treatment should be severely punished.
We are a kind of Association that respects life. As so, we do not kill, unless in very extreme situations, mainly when animals enter in suffer!
There are organizations, even SPCA and especially PETA (please read the controversy number of kills from this organization in USA), that kills animals because they think is better killing them than leaving them subject to unnecessary risk outside our houses. Others prefer to cage the animals almost forever in tiny cages for exactly the same reason.
We can not understand those policies. The last one is even cruelty!
In Macau, there is a club of animal lovers that put live rats in cages where snakes live. In our opinion this is cruelty. There is no reason to put those animals, that are part of the snake chain of food, alive in a space that they know they can not escape!
The Mother Nature gives this opportunity to all of us and even to them.
This club just do not give any option to them!
This is an unnecessary violence!
We disagree!
In Nature animals may kills others to survive. Usually they just kill for eating when they are hungry or for defence. Not for entertainment or pleasure!
We are the only animals that kill for pleasure and entertainment. We human animals because of our position in the Mother Earth we should have the sense of respect and the responsibility for the protection of other species that are part of our same world!
The minimum we are asking is a treatment with no cruelty!
