Anima – July Adoption of C868-Arista!

C868-Arista that was rescued on 25th December 2014, together with C869-Atina, C870-Ansley and C871-Allard, after a call from Mrs. Cheong reporting cats at Edificio Kak Cheong in Rua Um (Bairro Iao Hon), was now adopted by Thomas. Thomas is also the adopter C587-Scott. It was a very nice gesture from Thomas as Arista is blind of her left eye! Thanks Thomas! Please Adopt and never buy! Anima – International Roundtable on Greyhounds (II)– Visit to Anima headquarters!

Anima has organized on 23-24 July an International Roundtable on Greyhounds inviting 10 Animal Welfare Organizations from around the world. These were the participant organizations: CAWA-China Animal Welfare Association from Beijing, SPCA(Taiwan), SPCA (HK), Kirsten (HK), Animals Asia (HK), Animals Asia (China), Animals Australia, RSPCA (Australia), RSPCA (UK) and GREY2K USA Worldwide. On the second day (free day) those organizations that still were in Macau has visited us and received an explanation of the Macau situation regarding animals and Anima main challenges! Anima – International Roundtable on Greyhounds (I)!

Anima has organized on 23-24 July an International Roundtable on Greyhounds inviting 10 Animal Welfare Organizations from around the world. These were the participants organizations: CAWA-China Animal Welfare Association from Beijing, SPCA(Taiwan), SPCA (HK), Kirsten (HK), Animals Asia (HK), Animals Asia (China), Animals Australia, RSPCA (Australia), RSPCA (UK) and GREY2K USA Worldwide. Several issues were discussed (situation of the greyhounds around the world, cruelty in training animals in Australia using live animals, strong cooperation of all organizations to curb any initiative to open any new track in the world especially in the area, etc) being the Greyhounds track of Macau (The Canidrome) the main centre of all the event. All organizations recommended the Macau Chief Executive not to renew the concession contract of the Canidrome when it expires at the end of this year and ask for the land to be given back to the community! Albano Martins Adopt In Coloane Kennel, News

Anima – Cooperation with IACM has reinforced the relations between both organizations !

Anima began on 1st February its cooperation with IACM, helping animals in the kennel to find adopters. We installed today five umbrellas to allow the animals to have their own play time when is raining! After around five months our relations are now very strong and trust has been a key piece in all this process. There is now a window of opportunity for some of those animals to be kept alive forever. Unfortunately it is not possible to keep all dogs in the Macau kennel alive! We hope the new Law will reduce drastically the number of animals abandoned reducing also the euthanasia by IACM. It was not an easy approach as we are two different types of organizations and our past was several times a past of fights. But we had to compromise for the benefit of the animals! Anima – The Community Corner (687-Rex)

687-Rex, rescued on November 1, 2011, and now around 5 years and 9 months old, was adopted on 20 June 2015 by Mrs. Ng. Mrs. Ng and the family came several times to Anima to walk Rex! Rex was one of our well known dogs, friendly with people, puppies and all dogs. He was one of our ambassadors! Rex has paid a visit to us with the new family for twice. Anima – July Sad News (C580-Dim Sum)!

Dim Sum in the old good times! This is the image we want to keep! C580-Dim Sum that was rescued on 27 August 2013 near the Coloane prison, was euthanized in a clinic this afternoon due to Chronic Renal Failure. He was not eating, was skinny and dehydrated even under treatment. His health has degraded very fast and we decided to stop his suffer after a favorable opinion of a vet and two board members approval, the last one the Anima President, as usual! R.I.P. my friend! Anima – SPP1426-Roxana Rescued as she missed us!

SPP1426-Roxana was found with a cut on her paw, during our rescue team daily supervision on April 16, 2015. She has returned to her home on July 7, 2015! However she missed us a lot as the last days she pays us a visit daily “asking” for coming back! As that area is very dangerous and she really missed us we decided to keep her forever, unless adopted! Now she is only 1426-Roxana! Please help us adopting! Be a SPP volunteer!
