The Greyhounds Racing Truth

In Macau the situation is even worst: 30 dogs are being killed at a very young age, between one and three years old. The effect of that killing is that the track replaces all animals (around 700) in two years time! We have calculated with the information provided by the Macau track that they are killing of around 30 animals per month. The number of animals being inactive for reasons such as tiredness, injuries or sickness reaches, using the track’s own numbers, is more than 40 per cent in several months! The ratio of injury is over 20 percent in many months also. The track is old and the number of races per day as well the number of races per month exceeds the good sense. Even in an old track we believe that those figures are not real, meaning only an excuse for them to kill innocent animals...

Anima – Another good example of a responsible family that adopted 783-Jumpy

For those who continue to abandon animals because of a pregnancy or because of children, please see one more good example of a responsible family. It comes today from Shibani and her husband! They have adopted 783-Trileg, now Jumpy, on 8 July 2012. Trileg was abandoned by another family on 25 January 2012, because who was in charge of him refers that he barks at night time! Now little Rohan was born and Jumpy is his Bodyguard! Jumpy is a very big and friendly black dog that had a leg very damaged when was living in a site in Taipa. Anima had no choice than to cut his leg! According to Shibani “they are getting along very well and I wanted to share that with you guys. Jumpy is very protective of him. Purely by instinct. He is an amazing dog. And I'm glad that Rohan is so lucky to have this...

Anima – Lost in the trail near Anima (857-Ron Chai)

857-Ron Chai was walked by one of our staff, as a volunteer as she was in day-off, in the trails near the helicopter area when escaped scared with the sound of one helicopter. He was properly leashed and with a harness. It was the first time he went out of Anima. This is the new measure being implemented by Anima in order to socialize all dogs with community members in order to allow them to go out to the trails and be more prepared to be adopted! Unfortunately, he got so scared that unexpectedly tried to bite the volunteer which lost control of him. We have been looking for him until 7:30 pm last night and we have now six staff of Anima looking for him in the Altinho de Ka Ho area. Unfortunately he escaped also with the leash. IACM was informed as the animal is property of Anima and...

Mandy gave an example of how important are the pets for a responsible family! Pets are for life!

Anima has received in the past calls of several owners telling that as the wife was pregnant the doctor advises them not to have pets living at home. As so, they abandoned the pets that lived with them in some cases more than ten years! This is a stupidity and total ignorance! And a violation of the rights of the animals! This is also a lie and a terrible mistake as the animals are the best way for kids to grow with enough body capacities to fight for infections. The company of a pet increases the capacity of the human immune system to protect himself against diseases. Kids should not live in a “bell jar”! Mandy has her baby last year and never abandon her two pets! Not during the pregnancy nor even after her baby was born. Thanks Mandy! Never abandon your pet! Abandoning a pet is cruelty! Pets are for life! Please help us donating...

Anima – Thanks Emma for your nice email regarding our work!

A nice email from Emma,  Dear staff at Anima, Myself and my boyfriend have been coming to Anima to dog walk for about 5 weeks now. I've been working as a singer for the Venetian, Macau. My contract is ending today so I will be leaving Macau. Before I left though, I just had to give you an email to say how wonderful your work is. Having visited rescue centers across the UK and Europe, I've seen animals kept in cages and barely getting enough freedom to walk and play. Anima is quite the opposite! With staff onboard all the time giving the dogs and cats the attention they need and deserve and sufficient space for the animals to feel free, I couldn't be more proud to tell the world how great you are. Thank you for all that you are doing. I have just sent a donation to Anima. I hope this...
