Anima – December Adoption (C1026-Fabray)!

C1026-Fabray was rescued by Anima on 8th September 2015, after a call from Ms. Chao referring that she found an injured kitten under the bridge near Oceanus. Fabray was there few days already. Her right hind paw was swollen, the nails on that paw were all missing. She was full of fleas and lice. Now she was adopted by Mr. Hoi. Thanks Mr. Hoi! Anima – Statistics about Cats and Dogs (Jan-Nov 2015)!

Anima has rescued in the period 364 animals, around 33 per month or one per day! Of those, 174 were de-sexed and the remaining is only waiting a recovery and the appropriate age. In the same period 165 animals were adopted. The huge death of animals is explained by the poor condition of them when arrived, or because they were already collected dead or by some diseases that sometimes happen in crowded shelters, even if we try our best to have a proper quarantine and hygiene. That is one of the reasons why Anima considers adoption a master issue! Anima adopts the policy of No-Kill and No-Cage, policies that limit our capacity to increase the number of rescues or oblige us to be more selective in our rescue operations! Last year we rescued 379 dogs and cats and we were able to make only 166 adoptions! Please understand, without adoptions...

Anima – SPP1578-Veni released today!

Please see her paw before and now after a surgery! SPP1578-Veni was released today after a surgery that amputated two fingers, severely destroyed by a bear trap. She can moves and walk perfectly well, otherwise will  be not released by Anima! She is not a friendly animal, a consequence of what happen to her! SPP1578-Veni, under our special protection program, was rescued by Anima on 14th November 2015, after several attempts for catching her. This was possible thanks to Dr. António Galvão support helping us in this rescue. We were trying to catch her from 9th November with no success! Veni was found in a casino construction site with a trap in the front right leg. According to Mr. Yum, who is responsible for the dogs in that area, it is the second time this happens and he doesn’t know who does that! It is time to end these cruelty situations! It is time...

1601-Kanani was rescued by Anima after a call from Ms. Lo reporting that a Pitbull Terrier, around four months old, was found in the park of Kwong Wa San Chuen with a bag.
