Anima – Apple Daily News of Hong Kong has visited us!

Today 17 people visited us, two were reporters from Apple Daily News of Hong Kong! They came to interview Anima regarding our campaign for the closing of Canidrome! More and more visitors come to Anima! Last year we have 5,511 visitors as compared with 5,032 visitors in 2013, an increase of around 9.5%! In 2015, up to the end of September, we had 4,185 visitors an increase of 5.2% as compared with 3,980 in the same period of 2014! 44 groups of schools, associations and companies have visited us! Anima – October New Puppies Born (1567 to 1572)!

1548-Katie was rescued by Anima on 14th October 2015, after a call from Ms. Lo reporting that Katie was living in a construction site that will begin to be redeveloped. Katie was pregnant. Katie was sent night time to a clinic for an ultrasound. She has already several puppies in an advanced pregnancy! So we collected her and she stayed in Anima for the birth! Last night she had six babies, 1567-Cappu, 1568-Latte, 1569-Bica, 1570-Macchi, 1571-Mokka and 1572-Presso, two males and four females! Welcome puppies to this cruel world! Never abandon your pet! Anima – October Adoption (C1048-Boyd and C1051-Larrisa)!

Boyd and Larrisa when rescued and now with the adopters! C1048-Boyd, male, around 3 weeks old was rescued by Anima on 8th October 2015, and SPPC1051-Larrisa, female and two months old, was rescued by Anima on 13th October 2015, both after a call from Michelle reporting that they were found somewhere in Taipa. Larrisa had high fever, was sneezing and the eyes were infected! Now Boyd and Larrisa were adopted by Mr. Mak's family! Mr Mak's family adopted also Gisela! Thanks Mr. Mak! Anima – Ian is the foster family of C691-Onion!

Please see Onion when was rescued and now being fostered by Ian. We are happy with the work of our staff taking care of  so many animals! We have four staff, sometimes five, totally dedicated to cats, but they are not enough to keep a close eye on all. As cats are free in Anima, it is more difficult to detect anything wrong to them earlier in advance! This is the price of freedom! Freedom is not subject to negotiation! Caging is insane, unless temporarily and during treatment! SPCAs that cages animals should be closed! Do you want to be caged?  In our crowded environment we try our best to have a close look to all our cats but we do not succeed always! Anima – October Adoption (1490-Winter)

See Winter when rescued and now with Mr. Leong his adopter! Four puppies, 1487-Spring, 1488-Summer, 1489-Autumn and 1490-Winter were found abandoned in the middle of the road between the water company and Anima on the morning of 7th July 2015, around 8:55am. 1489-Autumn had a wound on her neck and all of them had skin problems. Now 1490-Winter was adopted by Mr. Leong! Thanks Mr. Leong! Never abandon your pet! Anima – October Return to Anima (C1017-Magda)!

Madga was returned to Anima by the adopter! There is a period of 15 days for the family and the animal to get used to each other. Sometimes the animal does not accept the family, other times the family really shows is not prepared to receive him or violates the rules of adoption, for instance  caging  or putting the pet in the balcony! C1017-Magda is the daughter of C965-Mika that was rescued by Anima on 8th June 2015 at Estrada do Cemiterio (Santo António e São Lázaro" Social Service Centre), after a call from Mr. Ieong. Magda as her siblings C1016-Meadow, C1018-Monty, C1019-Marik and C1020-Marion were born on 9th August 2015 in Anima. Magda was adopted on 13th October 2015 and now returned. The family of the young adopter doesn’t want her free inside the house keeping her always caged. These violates our rules and the adoption rules. As so, we decided to get her...

Anima – October Rescue (C1063-Trinity)!

Happy family reunited ! C1063-Trinity, around three years old, the mother of C1055-Tadita, C1056-Taina and C1057-Takisha, was rescued by Anima in the Sam Po Temple. She is staying now in quarantine with their kittens in B13. She will be neutered and later free in the main cat area (B6 to B12 and B18). Never abandon your pets! Abandoning a pet should be a crime! Anima – October Sad News (C253-Micha)!

C253-Micha was recued by Anima on 13th May 2011. She was an old cat and older than her with us  in our shelter, we have only nine cats! More than 800 cats entered in Anima after her! She died today unexpectedly! Living in a crowded shelter creates a lot of risks to cats. If you want to abandon your cat in Anima, please reconsider. A shelter environment is not the most appropriate for a pet, even if we try our best to keep them in freedom and medically supervised! Any kind of virus (cat flu, FIP, etc) can provoke a real disaster in all other cats! We had in the past very complicated situations with animals that did because some virus had spread! 1528-Paulina, 1524-Paxton, 1525-Payton, 1526-Parker, 1527-Paulette and 1529-Pauline were rescued by Anima on 21st September 2015, after a call from Mr. Edgar.
