Anima Cannot Die – Please Help us to Help Them!

<24-01-2021> Anima cannot die! Please help us to help them! We are facing financial hardships because of COVID-19. The COVID-19 Pandemic forced many of our supporters to cancel or reduce their support. We have around 400 dogs in our Dog Shelter and around 300 cats in our Cat Paradise! Also, over 500 dogs and cats who are living outside ANIMA in streets or sites are under ANIMA's Special Protection Program (SPP). We are providing them food, medication and necessary welfare, within our financial capabilities. We have some animals in our shelters that have medical needs, and food is also a priority. On 31st December 2020, ANIMA rescued 10 cats from IAM Macau Kennel and on 22nd January 2021, 10 more cats were rescued from IAM Macau Kennel again. Anima-January Sad News (421-Mimi)!

<24-01-2021> Our dog 421-Mimi has passed away today. Mimi had been suffering of Septicemia and, despite all medical care, couldn’t survive. She was 12 years old and was in our shelter since 2008. Anima-Grupo de Escuteiros Lusófonos de Macau visited us!

<23-01-2021> Today, we were visited by 53 people, of which 27 were from Grupo de Escuteiros Lusófonos de Macau who came to our Dogs’ Shelter to interact with our four-legged companions and learn a bit more about Anima’s work. Thank you for your visit and support! Education is the key issue for changing the cruelty environment against animals. Pets are for life! More and more visitors come to Anima! Anima–January Adoption (2334-Ben Ben)!

<23-01-2021> Ben Ben was adopted today by Ms. Elsa and Francisca! 2334-Ben Ben (M), around seven years, was rescued by Anima on 6th January 2021, after a call reporting that a lady who was living in Centro International de Macau was hospitalized and couldn’t provide for her animals anymore. Anima rescued Ben Ben together with two other dogs and they were welcomed at our Dogs’ Shelter. Today, Ben Ben found a forever family! Thanks for adopting, Ms. Elsa and Francisca! Anima–January Rescue (B195-Hua Du)!

<16-01-2021> B195-Hua Du, a pigeon, was rescued by Anima on 16th January 2021, following a call from Ms. Kuan informing that a pigeon flew into her building at Rua do Campo and was trapped on the stairways. Anima-January Sad News (C1564-Dan)!

<10-01-2021> Sadly, our cat C1564-Dan has passed away today. Dan had been suffering from pancreatitis for several months. On his last visit to a clinic, kidney problems were also diagnosed. According to the veterinary doctors, however, there was not much we could do at this stage and he returned to our shelter where he had been receiving IV fluid, medication and supplements daily. Dan would be found dead this morning in our shelter. R.I.P. our dear friend! Never Abandon your pets! Anima-Watkins returned home!

<10-01-2021> Our cat C2446-Watkins (M) was returned today to his owner, Mr. Lei. Rescued on last December 15th, Watkins was found meowing trapped between two buildings in Rua da Ribeira do Patane. Our Rescue team rescued Watkins with the help of a neighbour. Watkins was wearing a blue collar but he had no microchip and the owner was not found initially. Watkins was then welcomed at our Cats’ Paradise. The owner would later be found and informed us that Watkins had escaped through a window. Prior to returning the cat, we have made sure that Watkins was microchipped and that all necessary changes were made to the owner’s apartment in order to ensure Watkins’ safety. Anima–January Rescue (C2479-Josie)!

<10-01-2021> C2479-Josie (F), a kitten around three months old, was rescued by Anima today following a facebook message from Ms. Lio reporting that two sick kittens suffering from ocular discharge were seen in Pátio do Mungo. We were able to catch one the kittens, C2479-Josie, who was immediately sent to a clinic. Ms. Lio will assist us rescuing the remaining kitten. Thanks for your warning message and support, Ms. Lio!
