Fundraising for Homeless Animals – Welfare Dinner!

The 2016 Fundraising for Homeless Animals Campaign – Ludwig’s Fund,  has ended with a welfare dinner held by Anima's Committee for the Special Protection Programme (SPP) on Friday 20th May 2016, at 7:30 pm in a restaurant in Taipa. The lucky draw of the 10 most expensive prizes happened during the dinner, as well as the auction of valuable offers for this 9th Fundraising for Homeless Animals event, coordinated by Gina Rangel, Anima Board member and founder. All money raised in this campaign will go toward Ludwig’s Fund for helping homeless animals. Anima's Committee for the Special Protection Programme (SPP) Affairs hold its lucky draw (prizes numbered 11 to 200) on Wednesday 18th May 2016, at 6:30 pm in Anima headquarters in Macau (Si Toi Building 14th floor) and the remaining 10 prizes, the most expensive ones, happened in the dinner of the campaign on last Friday, 20th May 2016. According to our Irish partners, confirmed by Hong Kong sources and Grey2k USA Worldwide, 24 new Irish greyhounds will arrive Macau this Friday 13th of May. Anima sources near the shipping companies confirm that the 24 Irish Greyhounds will arrive Macau (at bridge 27) between 17:00 to 17:30! The export of those animals is making a big mess in Ireland and is damaging the image of Macau as a friendly and international city of leisure and entertainment. Lots of bad publicity to Macau, published all over the world, news in the international media (TVs, radios and newspapers) and in the social networks are destroying all the work done by our Government in the last years! 2016 Fundraising for Homeless Animals

Anima held the 2016 Fundraising for Homeless Animals –Woofing for a Cause,  today in the fountain area of Ocean Gardens. A Macau Dog Lover and a great supporter of this fundraising who wished to remain anonymous sponsored to Anima  the amount of MOP$200.00 for each dog present at this event, where photo session and snacks were available. Anima – Why Adoption is our key piece!

Anima has rescued from January to September 2015,  286 animals, around 32 per month or one per day! Now we want 50 adoptions per month to allow us to save more animals and return less to the sites! In the same period only 113 animals were adopted. Anima adopts the policy of No-Kill and No-Cage, policies that limit our capacity to increase the number of rescues or oblige us to be more selective in our rescue operations! Last year we rescued 379 dogs and cats and we were able to make only 166 adoptions! Please understand, without adoptions we can not save more animals! There are people that only complain but do nothing when we need their help! Just because we are an association that protects animals this doesn’t mean necessarily that animals can be dumped to our shelter! Anima – Adopt or  get adopters and get a 5,000 cash prize!

Anima is launching a monthly adoption cash reward, beginning today! Why? We need more space for animals rescued as the number of abandonments is increasing substantially and next year one construction site may be redeveloped and we need to get prepared to save 60 to 70 dogs! If we have no space in Anima we are not able to help! Lucky draws will take place on the first Sunday of every month at 4:00 pm in Anima headquarters, beginning on 6th December! This is a win-win process: if we have more adopters we can save more animals and you will have more chances to get the cash prizes!
