Anima – IACM animals for adoption in Coloane Kennel!

SPP710-Pak Sa, SPP711-Kam Sa, SPP719-Ah Gym, SPP721-Ah Hong, SPP722-Tai Pou, SPP723-Yi Pou,  SPP724-Sam Pou and SPP725-Sai Pou, were rescued by Anima and sent to Coloane kennel for adoption. All of them are under Anima staff management. The main reason of this decision was to improve their quality of life and avoid them to be sooner or later killed as the community around the site was complaining about their bark. In the area Anima is helping around 60 animals and has now two staff fully working there. All food and medication are also fully covered by Ludwig’s fund created by Anima on April this year! We believe that the site will be fully closed for construction within one to 1.5 years. So the future of those animals are really a challenge for us all our friends that want to help stray animals. Anima and IACM cooperate to save as many animals as possible (SPP1443-Seafood now in Coloane Kennel)

SPP1443-Seafood was delivered from Macau kennel to Coloane kennel and is now staying in pen 13 under Anima staff management. All animals in Coloane Kennel have play times as this is a principle in Anima. No animal is caged. However we may admit that the accommodation space in Coloane kennel is not as large as desired! IACM and Anima are cooperating in order to avoid the killing of so many animals. Seafood has already a potential adopter in September! Please help us to help them! Anima and IACM again helping each other to save as many dogs as possible

In the past we had many divergences with IACM. Today, we still have but we created with IACM a window of cooperation for the benefit of the animals. We respect each positions and we are trying now our best not to maximize our divergences but to concentrate in our main areas of common positions. We understand that because we are in different situation, Anima do not kill and IACM  has not many options than to euthanize. Many SPCAs do that, we must be honest!  That is the reason why Anima tells that the new law should consider the deliver of one animal to the kennel, when a family doesn't want the pet anymore, as an abandonment. This situation will force IACM to continue to kill animals as IACM has no physical capacity to get all of them adopted as we do not have also. But by our own decisions we are not authorized...

For adoption in Coloane Kennel

451-Ivone was adopted from Anima on 20 June 2009 and was abandoned in Praça do Tap Seac. Someone delivered her to IACM. Fortunately, by an old informal policy between Anima and IACM, when we transfer our property to a new adopter our name is internally registered in IACM file. Once an animal is abandoned we are informed by IACM which, by law, can only disclose the microchip. But this is enough for us to know who was the bad guy. Once informed, we immediately called the adopter and the reason is always the same: the family do not want the animal anymore! But why he has not even called us? Why she was just abandoned in a very busy area? Irresponsible people! We are ashamed of him! Thanks to our new cooperation with IACM, and because we are completely full, Ivone will go to Coloane kennel for adoption. ...

Anima and IACM begin cooperation for the benefit of the animals

Anima began today its cooperation with IACM, helping animals in the kennel to find adopters. There is now a new window of opportunity for some of those animals to be kept alive forever. Unfortunately it is not possible to keep all dogs in the Macau kennel alive! We hope the new Law will reduce drastically the number of animals abandoned reducing also the euthanazia by IACM. It was not an easy approach as we are two different types of organizations and our past was several times a past of fights. But we have to compromise for the benefit of the animals! Anima never kills and IACM, as any other kennel in the world, by regulation, has to control the number of animals in the streets! With no law to protect animals IACM has not really many alternatives! Let’s put a stone over the past! Anima is now cooperating with IACM...
