Anima–March Sad News (877-Lisa)!

<08-03-2021> 877-Lisa (F), one of our dogs rescued long time ago, was found with an abscess on her right hind lower leg, on 24th December 2020. She was under treatment and antibiotics. On 30th December, 877-Lisa was sent to a clinic for consultation. According to the vet, the staining microscopy and x-ray results, the abscess could be a tumor or an infection. Hospice care was recommended as she may be near the end of her life. Anima was focus on providing the best quality of life for her with a terminal disease. Yesterday, 877-Lisa was sent to a clinic for further examination. She did a blood test and the result indicated that she has anemia. X-Ray result showed that her intestine is abnormal. In the clinic, they suspected that her tumor might have been spread to her intestines. Today, 877-Lisa passed away due to cancer. R.I.P. our dear friend! Never Abandon your pets! Abandoning...

<07-03-2021> Sadly, our kitten C2505-Nugget has passed away. Nugget was just one month old and had been together with her mother and siblings. Nugget was active and didn’t present any signs of sickness. Her mother is now under close observation and the remaining kittens will be fostered by our staff for special care. R.I.P. our dear friend! Anima–February Rescue and Sad News (2344-Poe)!

<04-03-2021> 2344-Poe (F), around three years old, was rescued by Anima on 4th March 2021, after her dead body was found by Mr. Albano in the early morning, lying on the roadside of Estrada de Hac Sa near the Man Hong Yeung villas. Mr. Albano contacted our Rescue team and they immediately collected the body. No blood or visible injuries were found. It was sent directly to I.A.M. for further investigation. Anima–February Rescue and Sad News (B199-Meg)!

<27-02-2021> The body of B199-Meg, an adult dove, was rescued by Anima on 3rd March 2021, after one of our supervisors found it during her morning inspection. B199-Meg was found with feathers scattered everywhere, and the body was still warm. Suspect it was attacked by dogs. The body will be delivered to IAM, later. R.I.P. our dear friend! Anima–February Rescued and Deceased (C2540-Catherine)!

<27-02-2021> C2540-Catherine (F), a cat around one year old, was rescued by Anima on 27th February, 2021 following a call from Mr. Ng reporting that a cat was found lying on the street of Caminho dos Artilheiros in front of Edf. Son Keng Kok. According to Mr. Ng, the cat had been seen wandering in that area for a couple weeks and probably fell from a height. Catherine was rescued by our team and sent to a clinic for further examination. X-ray results showed that both her left front leg and mandibular symphyseal were fractured. She also presented internal bleeding, pneumothorax and hematoperitoneum. Catherine stayed hospitalized and we were advised that a surgery could only be performed once her health condition stabilized. Sadly, we were later informed by the clinic that Catherine didn’t survive her multiple injuries. R.I.P. our dear friend! Never Abandon your pets! Abandoning a pet...

Anima–February Sad News (C2526-Martins)!

<26-02-2021> C2526-Martins (M), around one year old, was rescued by Anima on 19th February 2021, after a call from Mrs. Chui reporting that a cat she used to feed in an abandoned yard at Estrada Marginal da Ilha Verde, is not eating for two days. C2526-Martins was immediately rescued and sent to a clinic for consultation. A large abscess was found in his back and is ruptured when touched, discharging a foul-smelling secretion. According to the vet, he has severe Sepsis and an abscess. A drainage tube was placed in wounds and abdomen to evacuate fluids that would otherwise accumulate due to dead space, inflammation, infection, and/or necrosis. Blood test’s result indicated that he has a high level of lymphocyte, monocytes, platelet, and anemia as well. He was at the risk of death as his condition had not a positive prognostic. Anima-February Sad News (C2258-Zuma)!

<20-02-2021> Sadly, our cat C2258-Zuma has passed away in a clinic today. Zuma’s health has always been delicate since he was rescued with a leg fracture in December, 2019. He had been hospitalized several times due to different health issues and this week suffered a seizure and was found lethargic. Zuma was sent to a clinic for consultation, where he stayed hospitalized as a blood test revealed that his health was deteriorating. Unfortunately, we were informed that Zuma passed away today. Anima-February Sad News (C2246-Rae)!

<18-02-2021> Sadly, our cat C2246-Rae (F) has passed away in a clinic today. Rae’s health condition was getting worst on these days. She had to stay under fluids, then stopped eating. After receiving treatment, her liver still was not working properly. C2246-Rae was sent to a clinic. According to the vet, it was seen a mass on Rae's liver. However, it could be a tumor or hematoma, and needed biopsy to confirm. The prognosis was bad as the mass was big and very hard to be removed. Rae also was tested positive for FCoV (Feline Corona Virus), developed into FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). She was hospitalized. Unfortunately, despite all medical efforts, she did not survive. Anima-February Sad News (390-Happy)!

<07-02-2021> Sadly, our dog 390-Happy has passed away in a clinic today. Happy’s health was unstable for the last days and she could not stand up at the beginning. She was sent to a clinic for consultation. According with the vet, she might have a tumor. Symptoms showed her suffering. Although a surgery was about to be performed, it was also suggested by the clinic to euthanize her to end the pain. Unfortunately, despite all medical efforts, she did not survive.
