Anima-December Sad News (C1346-Kara)!

<29-12-2016> C1346-Kara (F), was rescued by Anima on 30th November 2016, with an estimated age of three years old, after a call from Mr. Ferreira reporting that a cat needed our help. According to Mr. Ferreira, his friend had over ten dogs and one cat at home, but his friend disappeared suddenly and the contract of the apartment finished on 1st December. Mr. Ferreira also mentioned that his friend didn’t treat the animals well. Most of his dogs were adopted already and only one dog and one cat was not. The last dog was picked up by another animal welfare association and we took over the cat. Kara was checked by our vet and dewormed. She was found very weak this morning and was sent to a clinic immediately. We found that her abdomen was severely infected that we couldn’t do anything to help. Anima-December Sad News (C335-Pinta Preta)!

<29-12-2016> C335-Pinta Preta (F), was rescued by Anima on 12th April 2012, after a call reporting that a cat needed our help. The owner of Pinta Preta passed away and no one could take care of her. Pinta Preta refused to eat and had dehydration recently. She was sent to a clinic and ultrasound showed that one of the kidney got enlarged, not sure if it's a tumor. She had been staying in the clinic for a while and came back to Anima on 27th December 2016. She was transferred to a second clinic for another opinion in the next day. According to the second vet, Pinta Preta had problems on her liver and kidney. We were informed by the clinic that she passed away last night. R.I.P. my friend! Never Abandon your pets! Anima-December Sad News (473-Leg Leg)!

<24-12-2016> 473-Leg Leg (M), with an estimated age of nine years old now, passed away today due to cancer. Leg Leg was found getting slim and not eating much since one week ago. We found a hard lump when we were palpating his belly and he seemed in pain. He was sent to a clinic for further examination and observation. According to the vet, there was a tumor  located near his bowel and artery. The surgery was too risky and Leg Leg might not survive during the surgery. Leg Leg was then transferred to a second clinic for another opinion. According to the second vet, the cancer had spread to his lung, liver and kidney already, there was no chance for him to survive. After discussed with the vet and approved by two of our board members, we made a sad decision to put him sleep. Last decision belongs always to the President of...

Anima-December Sad News (SPPC1327-Huck)!

<20-12-2016> The mother, SPPC1324-Polly (F), on the time with an estimated age of three years old, together with her kittens, SPPC1325-Becky (F), SPPC1326-Sawyer (M) and SPPC1327-Huck (M), on the time all with an estimated age of 1.5 months old, were under our Special Protection Program (SPP) and rescued by Anima, through Michele, on 7th November 2016, somewhere in Taipa. Polly had upper respiratory infection and the breathing was not clear. Becky, Sawyer and Huck had eye discharge and inflammation. They were returned to their former place after dewormed and medication prescribed in the same day. They were brought to Anima again on 29th November 2016 by Michele. Polly was staying with us to be spayed. Becky, Sawyer and Huck were staying with us for adoption. <19-12-2016> C1277-Dot Dot (M), was rescued by Anima on 13th September 2016, with an estimated age of five months old, after a call from Ms. Lou reporting that a skinny kitten was found near Hospital Conde S. Januário. Dot Dot was collected to Anima and checked by our vet. He was staying with us under observation. He was found dehydrated and refused to eat recently. He was sent to a clinic for consultation. Unfortunately he passed away before we arrived the clinic and the cause of death was FIP. R.I.P. my friend! Never Abandon your pets! <13-12-2016> B060-Sunny, was rescued by Anima on 12th December 2016, after a call from Michele reporting that a bird was found unable to fly somewhere in Taipa. Sunny was sent to a clinic and stayed in the clinic for observation. We were informed by the clinic that Sunny suddenly collapsed this morning and passed away. R.I.P. my friend! Anima-December Sad News (C1173-Cheddar)!

<06-12-2016> C1173-Cheddar (F), was rescued by Anima on 21st April 2016, with an estimated age of ten months old, after a call from Mr. Wai reporting that C1173-Cheddar fell down from the terrace of Jardim da Victoria (Block H). Our rescue team found C1173-Cheddar trapped in a closed terrace of the building. She was collected, checked and dewormed. Cheddar was dehydrated, had fever and gum problems. She was recovered and stayed with us since that. Cheddar was diagnosed with Stomatitis on 28th October 2016. She refused to eat and we started to force feeding since two weeks ago, but she was still getting skinnier. She had bloody diarrhea yesterday and was sent to a clinic for further examination. According to the vet, there was a hard lump in the abdomen, which was most possibly the cause of her condition. A surgery could be done, but the success rate was lower than 10% as Cheddar was...

Anima-December Sad News (H005-Dim Dim)!

<05-12-2016> H005-Dim Dim (M), H006-Sum Sum (F), were with an estimated age of four months old, together with three new born babies H007-Tic Tic, H008-Tac Tac and H009-Toe Toe, were hamsters rescued by Anima on 6th July 2016, after a call from Ms. Muk, a cleaner in Edificio Wang Son. She found H005-Dim Dim, H006-Sum Sum, H007-Tic Tic, H008-Tac Tac and H009-Toe Toe in a cage abandoned in the garbage room with a note. H006-Sum Sum is the mother of H007-Tic Tic, H008-Tac Tac and H009-Toe Toe. They were collected by us and H005-Dim Dim was staying in a separated cage, while H006-Sum Sum was staying with the three babies in another cage! Dim Dim was found passed away this morning without any symptoms. R.I.P. my friend! Never Abandon your pets! <05-12-2016> C1349-Grey (M), was rescued by Anima on 4th December 2016, with an estimated age of six years old, after a call from Mr. Ho reporting that a skinny cat was found in Rua de Cinco de Outubro. Grey was sent to a clinic for consultation. He had an eye infection and dehydration. He was staying in the clinic for observation.
