Donation from Greyhounds, Many Nations, One Voice!

<06-08-2016> Anima received a donation of GBP 350 from Greyhounds, Many Nations, One Voice, a UK group of animal lovers and activists for the rights of greyhounds. This is a result of an auction made by the group in UK. Many thanks to our friends of this important group that believe in our effort to save the almost 700 greyhounds still in Canidrome. Anima – July Donation from Mr. Cheung!

<21-07-2016> Today Mr. Cheung came to Anima and decided to donate to us MOP 20,000.00 telling that we are doing a good job with animals, that we are helping and keeping animals that were hurt, with three legs and injured, paying all the huge bills. Only 1608-Eemili (and the sister), that was sent by Anima to the kennel for adoption and after collected back as Eemili got severely sick,  medical care, surgery, treatment (severe diarrhea) and accommodation in a clinic for around one month and half cost us around MOP 75,000.00! He didn’t want us to take a picture with him but promised to visit us again with the family. He is still a young and gentle man! Thanks Mr. Cheung! Anima – Donation from Estrela do Mar School!

<20-07-2016> Anima was invited to participate on 8th July 2016, in the event E-Memory, organized by the students of the School Estrela do Mar, in Macau. The event began at around 5:30 pm with around 100 students in the beginning, and as usual the speeches came first: by the Principal of the school, followed by our President and Ms. Paulina Luk, our Executive Director. Our messages were about animals, our code of ethics and how can they help us helping the animals! All the event was totally organized by the students with a lot of music. The net income of the event, included the moneys deposited in our donation box, all amounting MOP 2,449.90 was donated to Anima by the students’ decision! Thanks for your strong support! Anima – Donation from Birmingham Greyhound Protection!

Anima has received a donation of GBP 200 (equivalent to MOP 2,124.00) from Birmingham Greyhound Protection, a group of animal rights’ activists in Great Britain fighting for the protection of greyhounds against the cruelty of the tracks, where thousands of animals are killed every year. Birmingham Greyhound Protection is a closed group with 5,643 members and Anima was invited to be one of them! They had an auction where two pictures made by the local artist Caroline Hazell were sold. Birmingham Greyhound Protection will help us to re-home the greyhounds of Macau if Canidrome is willing to give them to us. Anima has requested the Macau Chief Executive and the Secretary for Economics and Financial Affairs to help us in this demand once the Canidrome is closed as we all in Macau and internationally expect! Anima – We have visited the Macau Portuguese School!

Anima has visited on 30th June 2016, at 10:00 am, the Macau Portuguese School (Escola Portuguesa de Macau) invited by Prof. Zélia de Oliveira Baptista. The kids have organized an event in May and have collected a donation to Anima. We agreed to pay a visit to them with four of our animals to collect the donation and to thank all of them for this precious support. It was a nice event where the kids show their love to the animals, and a good perception about the rights of the animals! Thank you Prof. Zélia, all teachers that joint us and all kids that enjoyed the experience! Thank you for trusting us and supporting our work! Simone Carline Carter,  an artist in UK,  has done a picture regarding the activists that peacefully have stopped the van transporting greyhounds and rescuing them. All our friends of Simone group decided that the picture will be put in an auction and the funds will be donated to Anima. The auction has generated GBP 180, equivalent to MOP 2,013.00! During the last years Anima was happy to receive from people sentenced by our Courts the total amount of MOP 58,500.00. Thank you Macau Court! Please help us to help them! Anima – Donation from Mrs. Ieong!

Mrs. Ieong, a good friend and member of Anima, has donated to us MOP 30,000 asking Anima to continue to save as many animals as possible. This donation was dedicated to our clinic.
