Anima-Caritas Macau visited us!

<12-03-2018> Today, 34 people visited us, 25 of them were from Caritas Macau that came to our Cats’ Paradise! Thanks for your strong support! Pets are for life! More and more visitors come to Anima! In 2017, we had 9,251 visitors an increase of 23% as compared with 7,519 in 2016! 137 groups of schools, associations, companies and friends have visited us. We were in 34 events organized by friends or by us! This year, up to February 2018, Anima received 927 visitors, ten groups of schools, companies and associations and we have been out in two events! Anima–March Sad News (C1755-Farah)!

<12-03-2018> C1755-Farah (F), together with C1751-Faas (M), C1752-Faddy (M), C1753-Fabienne (F), C1754-Fairfax (M), C1756-Fedora (F), C1757-Feri (M), C1758-Femke (F) and C1759-Feray (F), were rescued by Anima on 10th November 2017, after a call from IACM reporting that they don’t have enough space for the cats. They were all vaccinated by IACM. C1755-Farah had fever, nasal and ocular discharge problems at that time. On 10th March 2018 we sent her to a vet for second opinion. C1755-Farah was in low temperature and dehydrated. The blood test showed she had renal failure. C1755-Farah also had minor jaundice, hemolysis and cat flu. She was apathetic, refused to eat and was some blood was coming out from the gums. She started having seizure and became unconscious. Her condition became worse and she entered in suffer. After discussion with the vet and approved by two of our board members, we made a sad decision to put her sleep. Last decision...

Anima–March Rescue (C1859, C1860)!

<11-03-2018> C1859-Galilea (F) and C1860-Galileo (M), both around two weeks old, was rescued by Anima on 11th March 2018, after a call from Ms. Lee reporting that two kittens, C1859-Galilea and C1860-Galileo were found in Praça de Ponte e Horta. She asked us for help. C1859-Galilea and C1860-Galileo were checked by us and dewormed. C1859-Galilea has eye infection and eye discharge. C1860-Galileo has pale gum and eye infection too. Anima–March SPP return (SPP2009-Dolly)!

<10-03-2018> SPP2009-Dolly (F), was under our Special Protection Program and was rescued by Anima on 3rd March 2018 when she was around two years old, during our daily feeding in Coloane. SPP2009-Dolly was found trembling and had respiratory problems. She was sent to a clinic and she had Canine Distemper. SPP2009-Dolly stayed in the clinic for close observation and treatment. Anima–March Sad News (SPP2000, SPP2002)!

<10-03-2018> The mother dog, SPP1999-Bea (F), around three years old, with the six puppies, SPP2000-Babak (M), SPP2001-Baako (F), SPP2002-Benita (F), SPP2003-Betsy (F), SPP2004-Bettina (F) and SPP2005-Borbala (F), all around 1.5 months old , were under our Special Protection Program and were rescued by Anima on 24th February 2018 after a call from Mr. Wong reporting that the mother dog SPP1999-Bea gave birth to six puppies one month ago. Mr. Wong was responsible for them in that area. However he found the puppies became lethargic, tired and not eating, especially SPP2005-Borbala was in high fever, with nasal and ocular discharge and with seizure as well. He asked us for help. All of them were sent to a clinic immediately. The result of the Canine Distemper test of the five puppies were positive. Anima–March Rescue (C1858-Benito)!

<10-03-2018> C1858-Benito (M), around three years old, was rescued by Anima on 10th March 2018, after a call from Ms. Kok reporting that a cat, C1858-Benito was abandoned by the shopkeeper of a shop as the owner already left Macau. According to Ms. Kok, C1858-Benito was caged sometimes and the shopkeeper does not want him now. She asked us for help. C1858-Benito was checked by us and dewormed. He was castrated already. Anima–March Rescue (C1857-Alivia)!

<10-03-2018> C1857-Alivia (F), around seven months old, was rescued by Anima on 10th March 2018, after a call from Ms. Chan reporting that a cat, C1857-Alivia, was hiding at the back of the air-conditioner in her shop and seemed got injured. The area that C1857-Alivia was hiding, was very deep down away and very difficult to reach her. Our rescue team also contacted the Fire Department for assistance. According to the witness, C1857-Alivia had fallen down from a building and made a loud noise this morning. C1857-Alivia was rescued  was sent to a clinic immediately. The x-ray showed that her left elbow was fractured. She had internal bleeding and has difficulty to breath. According to the vet, surgery can only be performed when her condition becomes stable. Anima–March Sad News (C826-Bonito)!

<09-03-2018> C826-Bonito (M), was rescued by Anima on 26th October 2014 when he was around one year old, after a call from Mrs. King saying that she caught a cat C826-Bonito in Macau. She asked us for help. C826-Bonito was checked and spayed, then he stayed with us since that time. Recently C826-Bonito was found with a black tongue. He became weak and had low temperature. C826-Bonito was sent to a clinic. AIt was caused by a toxin inside his body that could not be filtered by kidneys. C826-Bonito had also a renal failure. The blood vessels of C826-Bonito were all damaged due to long term under dripping. He was suffering due to organ failure. After discussion with the vet and approved by two of our board members, we made a sad decision to put him sleep. Last decision belongs always to the President of Anima, and it is not an easy decision! R.I.P. my friend! Please help us to help...
