Anima – March Rescue (1692-Luce)!

1692-Luce, around 15 days old, was rescued by Anima  after a call from Ms. Lei reporting that 1692-Luce was found in the gutter on the roadside near Grand Coloane. No adult dogs or other puppies were seen around the area at the moment. He was fostered temporarily by our supervisor Zoe as he needs milk every three hours, day and night. All animals must be treated with dignity!

For your own safety, do you want to be muzzled? For your own safety, do you want to be caged? Anima is a Society that protects all animals, not only dogs or cats, birds or rabbits. Any living creature is subject to our concern. No animal, including those that belong to our chain of food consumption (not all of us are veggies activists), should be treated with cruelty. Animals that belong to our chain of food consumption should be respected and any unnecessary cruel treatment should be severely punished or avoided. We are a kind of Association that respects life. As so, we do not kill, unless in very extreme situations when animals enter in suffer and no other treatment is possible! Life is the most important thing for all of us, including non-humans animals! Anima – March Rescue (SPP1691-Tiger II)!

SPP1691-TigerII, around four years old, is under our Special Protection Program now. He is living in a construction site and our rescue team is responsible for him now in the area. He was found not eating, getting skinny for the past few days, and being nauseous today. SPP1691-Tiger II was sent to a clinic for consultation and ran a tick fever test. The test result indicated positive. SPP1691-Tiger II is staying in Anima (V0) temporarily for medication. Please help us to help them! Never Abandon your pet! Adoption of SPP Dogs (SPP1663 to 1665 and 1667 to 1668)?

SPP1662-Tanmi, around three years old, with her six puppies, SPP1663-Therese, SPP1664-Tenny, SPP1665-Talina, SPP1666-Tika, SPP1667-Terro and SPP1668-Trafo, all around three months old, were under our Special Protection Program from March 10, after a call from Mr. Chan and Ms. Joan reporting that the dogs live in a construction site somewhere in Taipa. Mr. Chan and Ms. Joan are responsible for all of them in that area. According to Mr. Chan, there are almost 25 dogs in the site and they are not yet de-sexed. Anima decided to provide food, medical care and de-sex surgery for all the dogs. Today we were informed that they were adopted by an association that took five of them. Rescue and new SPP dogs (SPP1689 and SPP1690)!

SPP1689-Ear (around 6 years old) and SPP1690-Ceci (around 3 years old) are now under our Special Protection Program (SPP). They were rescued by Anima after a call from Ms. Wu  reporting that SPP1689-Ear and SPP1690-Ceci were two of the 28 dogs that she has been taking care of in her house, both needing to be spayed. Anima has been supporting food and medical care for all of her dogs since 17th April, 2014. SPP1689-Ear and SPP1690-Ceci were spayed today and they were returned to Ms. Wu's house after the surgery. March Abandonment, Rescue and Adoption (1688-Curly)!

1688-Curly (M), around three months old, was rescued by Anima after a call from Mr. Antonio reporting that a male poodle, 1688-Curly, was found abandoned outside his company with a note this afternoon. The note was written by the owner begging people to save him. He has no microchip. As we are full, Mr. Antonio guaranteed us that he will adopted him if nobody wants him. Curly was checked, had a bath and was de-wormed. He was returned to Mr. Antonio who informed us that Curly was already adopted after some messages in facebook. Thanks Mr. Antonio! Anima – ARTM Visited Us!

Today, 43 people visited us, six of them were from ARTM. ARTM is our partner and long time supporter, fostering some of our dogs and being our first shelter for cats for few years when we have no shelter. Thanks for trusting us! Pets are for life! More and more visitors come to Anima! In 2015, we had 5,768 visitors an increase of 4.7% as compared with 5,511 in 2014! This year, up to February 2016, Anima received 1,363 visitors, an increase of 24.1% as compared with the same period of last year! The number of groups visiting us increased also 42.9% to 10 groups! Anima- March Adoption (C831-Jade)!

C831-Jade was rescued on 30th October 2014, after a call from Mrs. Lee. The cat was hit by a car at Rua (Street) de Inácio Pessoa. He was not able to move after the accident and was urinating blood. Jade was taken immediately to a clinic by the rescue team. He did a blood test and X-Ray. X-Ray shows left femur was fractured. He may had a bladder rupture or internal bleeding. Jade had recovered and lived healthy with us for almost 1.5 years. Now was adopted by Ms. Sio! Thanks Ms. Sio! Please Adopt and Never buy! Do not Abandon your pet!
