Anima – Fundação Rui Cunha – Animals: Law and Rights!

Fundação Rui Cunha held a talk on today at 18:30 regarding the project of Law for the Protection of Animals being in discussion in the Macau Legislative Assembly. The talk was in Portuguese Language with translation to Chinese and guests’ speakers were Anima President Mr. Albano Martins, the Lawyer Mr. Paulo Cardinal, the Vets Mr. Jorge Boavida and Mr. Ng Tung Ming. The intervention of our President centered in several topics of this law, which Anima disagrees and a movie was shown with real cases of cruelty from the daily activity of Anima. We are against: 1.the main reasons of the law seeming  more concerned with human health and the keeping of public order than animal welfare; 2.the concept of abandonment (if abandoned in kennel the law considers as a non-abandonment and we disagree. At the end,  IACM will be called to kill the animals abandoned in the kennel as IACM...

Anima – March Adoption (C1118-Socky)!

C1118-Socky was rescued by Anima on 5th February 2016 after a call from Ms. Peny reporting that C1118-Socky was found by a friend of her in a street inside a carton box and was taken care by her for a while. She told us that she tried to find an adopter for C1118-Socky but nobody was interested. She also referred that as she was pregnant she could not keep Socky! Pregnancy has nothing to do with these matters! Animals at home do not create any hazardous to any pregnant people. On the contrary, they help the future mothers to have healthy babies! Vets and human doctors should teach people about the importance of having animals when a pregnancy occurs! Today, Socky was adopted by Mr. Choi. Thanks Mr. Choi! Please Adopt and Never buy! Do not Abandon your pet! A pet is for life!     Please help us donating to ANIMA – Sociedade Protectora dos Animais de Macau to...

Anima has been supporting food and medical care for all of her dogs since 17th April 2014. This is an exception to our Special Protection Program as this program is design only for homeless animals and only was accepted because of the poor financial capabilities of the owner! This is a distressed situation that we do not advice anyone to deal with! DO NOT HAVE SO MANY ANIMALS AT HOME! THIS IS NOT GOOD FOR THEM AND EITHER FOR YOU! SPP1669-Loi Loi and SPP1670-Angel were delivered to a clinic for de-sex surgery today. SPP1670-Angel was spayed and...
