The Facts of Canidrome: Why Canidrome must close? What Anima will do to save those animals?

Join us in our Candlelight Vigil on 30th September in  front of the Government Palace  in Nam Van Lakes, from 8 pm to 10 pm!  Do you know that the Canidrome kills 30 dogs every month, majority healthy animals because they are not competitive? Do you know that this means that in 2 years’ time Canidrome has killed all the greyhounds? Do you want that to continue? Why they do that? Because they import the same number of dogs and sell them in public auctions at 6 times the prices they bought in! And do you know that that money is not taxable? Do you know that from January to June this year (2015) they pocketed 3,134,000 MOP in those sales? Do you know that the Casinos pay around 40% of taxes over their Gross income and the Canidrome only pay 25%? Do you know that because of that the Government didn’t collect from...

News, Statistics regarding animals

Anima – August Statistics about Cats and Dogs!

Anima has rescued in the period 247 animals, around 31 per month or one per day! Of those, 112 were de-sexed and the remaining is only waiting a recovery and the appropriate age. In the same period 102 animals were adopted. The huge death of animals is explained by the poor condition of them when arrived, or because they were already collected dead or by some diseases that sometimes happen in crowded shelters, even if we try our best to have a proper quarantine and hygiene. Anima adopts the policy of No-Kill and No-Cage, policies that limit our capacity to increase the number of rescues or oblige us to be more selective in our rescue operations! Last year we rescued 379 dogs and cats and we were able to make only 166 adoptions! Please understand, without adoptions we can not save more animals! Please be part of the solution, not part of...

Contamos consigo! Anima [gallery ids="18968,18966,18964,18978,18976,18962,18960,18958,18954,18952,18950,18948,18946,18940,18942,18944"]...

Candlelight Vigil for Closing the Canidrome!

Dear friend, Please Help us to Close the Canidrome! Did you know that every dog that is brought here to race is doomed to die? That's right, several hundred greyhounds are imported from Australia every year to be used and abused at the Canidrome racetrack each year and not one of them gets out alive. Thankfully, we now have an extraordinary opportunity to shut down the worst dog track in the world. But we need your help to do it! Please help us to help them! Participate in our Candlelight Vigil on September 30th from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm across the road from the Macau Government Palace (on the side of Nam Van Lakes). Show that you respect the rights of all animals! This is a peaceful, silent and non political event showing our pain for so many young and healthy animals that are being killed in an average of one...
