Anima 2015 February Statistics about Animals

Anima has rescued in the period of Jan-Feb 2015, 74 animals. In the same period,  15 animals were de-sexed and others are only waiting a recovery and the appropriate age. The number of adoptions was 23! Regarding the huge death of animals this is explained by the poor condition of them when arrived or by some diseases that sometimes happen in crowded shelters, even if we try our best to have a proper quarantine and good standards of welfare and cleaning policies. Anima adopts the policy of No-Kill and No-Cage, policies that limit our capacity to increase the number of rescues or oblige us to be more selective in our rescue operations! Last year we rescued 379 dogs and cats and we were able to make only 166 adoptions! Please understand, without adoptions we can not save more animals! Anima March Information about Animals (1430-Helga)

1430-Helga was rescued by Anima after a call reporting that someone saw a dog being beaten by the owner and then abandoned in Rua da Perola Oriental “ La Cite”.  The dog couldn’t move and was just lying in the road. No microchip was found. As it was late, 1430-Helga was sent to a clinic. An X-Rays showed her left hind leg has a fracture. Please see the cruel treatment made to 1430-Helga. Never abandon your pet!
