Anima–February Sad News (C2526-Martins)!

<26-02-2021> C2526-Martins (M), around one year old, was rescued by Anima on 19th February 2021, after a call from Mrs. Chui reporting that a cat she used to feed in an abandoned yard at Estrada Marginal da Ilha Verde, is not eating for two days. C2526-Martins was immediately rescued and sent to a clinic for consultation. A large abscess was found in his back and is ruptured when touched, discharging a foul-smelling secretion. According to the vet, he has severe Sepsis and an abscess. A drainage tube was placed in wounds and abdomen to evacuate fluids that would otherwise accumulate due to dead space, inflammation, infection, and/or necrosis. Blood test’s result indicated that he has a high level of lymphocyte, monocytes, platelet, and anemia as well. He was at the risk of death as his condition had not a positive prognostic. Anima–February Rescue (C2528-Olive)!

<25-02-2021> C2528-Olive (F), around six months old, was rescued by Anima on 25th February 2021, after receiving a message on Facebook from Mr. Tiago asking if we can collect her as the kitten is very friendly and easy to approach. Mr. Tiago thinks that Olive might have an owner and was lost. Today, our rescue team passed by the area. Olive was found inside of a shop and it was asked if she belongs to them. Both, the shop staff and the owner, said that Olive is a stray cat that would sometimes come in, either to get food or attention. Anima–February Return (SPPC2527-Susie)!

<24-02-2021> SPPC2527-Susie (F), around seven months old, was rescued by Anima on 19th February 2021 and she is under our Special Protection Program, under Ms. Carla responsibility at her workplace, Calçada da Igreja de São Lázaro. A cat trap was lent to Ms. Carla and she caught her. Susie was sent directly to a clinic where she was defleaed, dewormed and desexed. SPPC2527-Susie was released back on the patio, today! <18-02-2021> C2525-Twinky (F), around four months old, was rescued by Anima on 17th February 2021, and now she is in our Special Protection Program, under Ms. Carla's responsibility at her workplace Calçada da Igreja de São Lázaro. A cat trap was lent to Ms. Carla and she caught Twinky. The kitten was directly sent to a clinic where Twinky was checked, vaccinated, dewormed and defleaed. Anima–February Rescue (C2523, 2524)!

<13-02-2021> C2523-Akio (M), around six months old, and C2524-Manki (M), around seven months old, were rescued by Anima from Rua Dois of Iao Hon on 13th February 2021. These cats were rescued as a way to ensure their safety following last shocking reports of several cats found dead in the area. Akio and Manki were both welcomed into our Cats’ Paradise. These rescues are part of an extensive rescue operation which is in progress in Iao Hon and Anima has been receiving the support of I.A.M. Please help us to help them! Anima-February Return (B197-Vera)!

<12-02-2021> B197-Vera, a dove, was rescued by Anima on 5th February 2021, following a call from Ms. Hui informing that she found a dove, B197-Vera, unable to fly near Edf. Kam Loi. She asked us help. Our rescue team collected Vera, sending her directly to a clinic. According to the vet, she was weak and needed to be fed. She was hospitalized in the clinic until full recover.
